The skin of the ocean
The Skin of the Ocean is an exploration of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, captured through a series of photographs taken between 2020 and 2025. The work presents a journey across the natural and built environments, observing the connections that exist where they are in opposition or in harmony.
The work reveals a place suspended between memory and erasure, beauty and burden, authenticity and artifice. Each image is an act of noticing, a record of what endures, what fades, and what we choose to hold on to as the past becomes the present in this new, irreversible reality.
